The Portrait Masters Conference 2017 and The Portrait Masters Awards & Accreditation Competition
The Portrait Masters Conference 2017 & Awards & Accreditation Competition
In September, I took a chance on my career and attended my first photography conference: The Portrait Masters Conference 2017 in Palm Springs, CA. This was multi-talented and contemporary portrait photographer, Sue Bryce, first conference with her team and a selected phenomenal panel of master photographers showcasing their skills in their own workshops.
This trip was life changing because I received a glimpse of what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I purchased my conference ticket by July, booked my plane tickets, my own Airbnb, car rental, and scouted everything for how I want to take the next steps in traveling and reaching my goal. This trip was a personal growth for me.
What I got out of this conference was the value of what photography is and how I can achieve the results I wanted. The energy of the conference was high and lively. The vendors were AMAZING as we all got $50.00 to spend on their merchandise and there were GREAT merchandise everywhere. Canon was also there to print large prints for us with their Canon Pro 1000. I took my images there right away. Honestly, we recieved many gifts.
What I really enjoyed with looking at all the papers and finishes available for print because I really wanted a signature look for my own photography.
I think everyone in attendance would say that all the master portrait photographers gave astounding workshops. We learned so much from their presentations because Peter Hurley, Lindsay Adler, Joel Grimes, Michele Celentano, Susan Stripling, and Kelly Brown gave all different types of themes for their workshop and for that, I really appreciated their time and the entire event.
Furthermore, after the conference, Sue Bryce and her team setup The Portrait Masters Awards & Accreditation Competition and I entered one photo in under the category: New Born.
And guess what I received after a grand panel judged it?
BRONZE!
BRONZE!
BRONZE!
I’m so delighted because it’s my first award for any of my photos and it’s a blessing. I think that’s it for now. I wanted to share my achievement and close 2017 with this blog post. If I can, I’ll post up a blog about my photoshoot in Bali too.
Signing out,
